School closure information
Dear North Rose-Wolcott Central School District Families:
As you know, the world around us is changing rapidly as a result of the novel coronavirus. We have been working diligently with Wayne County Public Health (WCPH), Wayne-Finger Lakes BOCES, New York State Department of Health, and the New York State Education Department to do our part to keep students and staff safe. As of 3 p.m. today, Wayne County has declared a State of Emergency.
On Monday, March 16, all North Rose – Wolcott staff and students should report for a regular school day. On Tuesday, March 17, all North Rose – Wolcott schools will be closed to students until April 14. Additionally, this will be the last day for parents to retrieve any needed materials from school buildings. Effective Wednesday, March 18, 2020 through April 13, 2020, the North Rose-Wolcott Central School District, along with every other school district in Wayne County, will be closed. All school and community activities on school grounds are cancelled until further notice.
We can assure you that students will continue to receive educational experiences during our closure through distance learning. Each building principal has developed a curriculum plan that will be communicated to families in the following days.
We will continue to communicate and provide updates in the days and weeks ahead. For the most up-to-date information, please visit our website and social media pages. Together, the North Rose-Wolcott Central School District and community will get through this global pandemic. We understand that this may be a challenging time for our school community, and we encourage you to reach out to your respective schools for support if needed. As always, the well-being of our students, staff and community members is our top priority.
Thank you for your continued support of our schools.
