Dear NRWE Families,
Welcome back to school! The fall is the time of year that we try on our new backpacks, tie up our shoes, and head to school where all the year's possibilities lie ahead of us! A fun note about our school, students only need a back pack and sneaks. No school supplies needed at NRW! We will have everything the children need in their new classrooms when they return.
There are a few changes around our school building. We are looking forward to a fall recess schedule full of #zest. A new hardscape play space and safety fence was added to the back of our large side yard recently. With the conversion of our previous tennis court into a new parking lot, we are excited that our students have a safe and dry new area to play on! Students will notice some updates in our equipment; our maintenance team has been working hard this summer.
Guests will find plenty of parking on the side of the building nearest the playground. Parents dropping off and picking students up will utilize this lot and secure entry to the building attached. With #prudence and planning, the District leadership is continuing to take steps towards securing our buildings with a constant focus on the safety of our students.
You and your students may have noticed that the NRW staff has been eagerly using new instructional methods this year. We have studied Personalized Learning as a community, and we are putting our #Love of Learning into practice! It has been a chance for the teachers’ #creativity to shine through and make the teaching and learning work for each and every child. We continue to work on these practices as we step into the new school year. We will be adding enough Chromebook computers this year for every classroom to have a full set. This has opened the doors to so many new ideas, resources and instructional tools!
There are so many special events coming up! We look forward to welcoming our students and their families to school for the Back to School Bash in August and the Open House in September, a fun and festive Halloween Parade will follow in October, and an opportunity to celebrate Veterans' Day with our #brave community members will be here before we know it in November. Parents are urged to check their student's green communication folder for notes and reminders, as well as to check our monthly NRWE newsletter for details. Our District online calendar is also regularly updated!
The teachers and support staff are excitedly welcoming in their peers from Leavenworth to explore opportunities for #teamwork. We've made the best use of all of our space, and are exploring new chances for us to learn and grow together. NRWE, truly, there’s no place we’d rather be!
Thank you for sending your students to school every day ready to learn!
It is a joy to work with them,
